**Later in the book, Anna and Elise share a passionate kiss after Anna breaks down crying. Elise kisses her on the lips to console her, and Anna kisses her back. Anna and Elise also have this “thing” -they asked each other “How much do you love me?” and the other would always respond “Miles and miles”. The last gesture, is that Elise always kisses Anna’s shoulder, and holds her tenderly, a photo capturing this is enough to convince the prosecutor that their relationship was sexual.

**It is revealed to Anna (before the murder, even though she tells everyone she didn’t know till after the murder) that Tate and Elise were having an affair. Which is thought by the prosecutor as a “motive” for Anna to murder Elise. Anna’s relationship with Tate puts a strain on her relationship with Elise. Elise feels like she is tossed aside by Anna, and not given much attention as she used to receive from her. I believe this is the reason Elise had an affair with Tate, to feel closer to Anna, not because she had any feelings for him.

** Tate was able to buyout of his trial by offering information that incriminated Anna, while she had lied for him. They took the buyout and Tate was released home to the states. In addition, he had a top notch defense attorney, that also took over Anna’s case -until they were pinned against one another. Also

**Anna knew about the affair hours before she KILLED ELISE. That’s right, the whole book  I thought she was innocent when she actually killed her! She walked in on Elise and Tate having sex, made EYE CONTACT with Elise and killed her a few hours later. Then later at her grave, she holds a friendship necklace that was supposedly ripped from Elise’s neck during the murder, and she says “I win”. “I win” seemingly refers to a bet Anna and Elise make, Elise thought Tate would break Anna’s heart, and Anna thought opposite. By killing Elise, she broke Tate’s heart by killing the one he loved.

**Elise was so crazy, she flirted with EVERYONE, without even thinking. She flirted with the locals, and one of them legit got mad that she was playing him. Even followed her everywhere after she jipped him out of bracelet. She flirted with this other guy, who was crazy too. IDK she didn’t think, and she bothered me

**Anna was slandered by almost everyone in her friend group, despite the fact that she did do it -the evidence was awful. They only had a knife that had Anna’s DNA on it, along with Elise and a time frame Anna wasn’t accounted for. On top of that there was a unprofessional prosecutor named Dekker, who literally found anything to incriminate Anna. Old Halloween photographs, homework assignments, and outbursts. He even tampered with the evidence and edited a video that cut out a suspect. AND THEN her friends were so quick to assume she was the one that killed her! Her so called friend group completely ratted her out! Her friend AK went on a talk-show to slander her. WTF. Anyways her friends and lack of evidence sucked.

**OMG ANNA IS SO… *facepalm. She killed Elise, but didn’t think to… idk wear gloves? Show a little remorse? The only solid evidence that was presented was the knife with her DNA. But what incriminated her was her lack of remorse. She didn’t cry, she had angry outbursts, and she was funny at the wrong times. Like c’mon, at least pretend you’re devastated that your supposedly best friend died. I think that’s what really caught the attention of the prosecutor and public. AND THEN SHE LIES ABOUT THE TIMELINE. If she had just told the detectives about Tate leaving, and about her time on the beach while Tate napped, I feel like she could’ve possibly avoided the trial, or at least not incriminate herself.
